More discovery. Less searching.

BestOf brings YouTube, Shorts, TikTok and Instagram into one place. Choose your audience, discover videos and keep your favorites on this device.

Your selection first.

BestOf collects public video metadata and editorial references to offer up to 20 picks per platform. These are selections from accessible sources, not an exhaustive ranking of all videos on a platform.

Local relevance, then a wider world

Open BestOf and browse: no account, questionnaire or ratings are needed. At the start of a TikTok or Instagram For you edition, eligible local picks with verified view counts come first, followed by relevant local editorial picks without counters. Compatible World picks come next. If places remain, Auto and All languages can complete the selection with broader international picks, including other languages or topics from another country. Within each World group, counted picks precede editorial discoveries. Every World supplement is labelled; it is not presented as locally popular. A specific content-language choice remains a filter. YouTube and Shorts retain their market, language and playback checks. Each counted group initially follows lifetime views, highest first. At equal views, a video not featured in the previous editions comes first, followed by the newer documented publication. View counts are worldwide, not views from your country.

Local editorial priority expresses relevance to your selected country, not greater popularity than a World video. Picks without public view counts never receive a popularity rank. Every card has a number above its preview. In For you and Discover, this is a selection position, not an exhaustive platform ranking. The order within existing local and World groups stays stable during an edition. Newly verified local social picks can appear before World supplements and replace the last supplements when all 20 places are occupied. Unavailable counts remain labelled Views unavailable. Explicit local article context from a reviewed publisher can establish topic relevance, even when that publisher is based in another country. Publisher readership alone does not make a local match, and neither proves the video’s creation country, spoken language or local popularity.

Publication dates and editorial dates

For you uses publications from the last 14 days, or videos referenced in a verified editorial article from the last seven days. An article can recommend an older video. The original publication date stays unchanged and the article date is labelled Selected. Unknown publication dates stay unverified and do not receive an invented age. Freshness determines eligibility; it does not reduce a verified view count. Source observations and actual counter measurements must be within 36 hours. A new article check cannot refresh an older view counter. A count must be tied to the same video in an official source; corrected counts may decrease. At most two picks per identified creator provide some variety.

Discover remains a separate option for recent publications and editorial finds from the last seven days. It uses a separate discovery score. Fresh picks uses verifiable publications from the last seven days. Most viewed can include older videos from the collected catalog.

New to me is your choice

Opening a video records that action only on this device. The selection stays unchanged on your return. Enable New to me to hide previously opened picks and fill their places from an eligible reserve when one is available. The same order, filters and original position numbers are preserved, so numbers may have gaps or exceed 20 when a reserve pick appears. Your viewing history is not sent to the server. This does not make an old video new or guarantee unseen results. Turn the filter off to see the full selection again.

Country and language

The suggested country comes from your connection where available. The last verified connection country is retained for up to 30 days during lookup failures and labelled accordingly; otherwise a labelled device estimate is used. A country you choose manually remains your choice. Auto prioritizes the selected country’s supported audience languages, such as English for the United States and English/French for Canada. Only TikTok and Instagram For you selections can use broader international completion after compatible picks. A market match is not a claim that a creator lives in that country. Shorts distinguish declared audio language from title/description language. Metadata-only language needs compatible documented channel-country evidence in Auto. Channels declared in India are excluded outside an explicitly selected India market, including World supplements. Unknown channel countries remain unknown.

Social platforms use a shared source catalog. A publisher’s language supplies editorial context, not proof of the video’s spoken language. Confirmed Indian origins and conflicting origin evidence remain excluded from both selection and World picks. Recent editorial finds may have an unverified country, which is labelled. Verified origins only hides these entries. Names and appearances are never used to invent a creator’s origin.

Honest counters

Unavailable views stay unavailable. Likes, article views and editorial dates never become video views or invented upload dates. Dated reported counts are marked. Views gained compares observations about 24 hours or seven days apart, with a three-hour tolerance. Lifetime popularity is not measured daily growth.

Continuous collection

Each audience receives a saved six-hour edition. Revisiting, reopening or pressing Update during that cycle reuses the selection without repeating a successful collection. When the cycle expires, collection runs in the background and replaces the edition atomically. If a source fails, the last still-eligible edition remains visible with its real dates. First-time collections can fill progressively; failed or incomplete sources have limited recovery attempts. When a scan has known articles still to review, up to two targeted continuation passes can run within the same cycle. They stop if no new video is found, and do not repeat the full source scan for each visitor. A social selection with fewer than 20 picks can add eligible videos as they become available during the cycle. On TikTok and Instagram, new relevant local picks take priority over World supplements; remaining additions fill empty places. Existing groups retain their internal order and the six-hour clock does not restart. Invalid or expired videos can be removed before six hours. Availability, API quotas and the supply of eligible videos can limit renewal: six hours does not guarantee 20 new videos. Closing a local BestOf server stops collection.

Watching in BestOf

BestOf uses official platform players with their attribution and controls. Instagram embeds are contained so their controls cannot automatically open an external tab, app or navigate BestOf away. If Instagram does not allow inline playback for a post, use Next video; containment does not remove platform restrictions. Removal, embedding restrictions, network problems or sign-in requirements can stop a particular video from playing. BestOf does not download or rehost video files or bypass these restrictions.
